ABSENCE POLICY

I understand that..

- In the event that a cheerleader will be late for practice or a game, or cannot attend a game you must inform the coach as soon as possible.

- Competitions and Competition practices are mandatory. The inability to attend practices as a result of unforeseen personal conflict and/or illness requires immediate notification to your child's coach. The coach and/or Board of Directors will handle each situation on a case-by-case basis as appropriate

Commitment Agreement

I understand that..

Practices and Competitions are MANDATORY. Cheerleading is an extremely short season and we ask that you prioritize Cheer above other activities for the season. Cheer is unlike other sports that there are no subs waiting on the bench and that each cheerleader on the team has an important position.  When one child is missing, that means one entire stunt group is unable to practice their stunt or that the entire team may be unable to practice their pyramid. If cheerleaders decide not to participate after choreography is completed that places the entire team at a disadvantage as the entire routine needs to be changed and relearned.

Refunds cannot be given as funds are spent in advance of the season beginning.

- Competition practices may take place outside of Winthrop for stunting clinics, choreography or review ofchoreography. This would mean providing transportation for your child

- August practice schedule is different than the Fall practice schedule. The August practice schedule may have more practice days and/or longer practices.

- Additional practice days or longer practice times will be added closer to competitions or as needed which are also mandatory

-Coaches will move competition cheerleaders to game day for missed and/or late practices.

- Teams may be capped at coach's discretion.
